Miramar, FL – One Killed, Three Hurt in SUV Crash on I-75
Miramar, FL (January 9, 2021) – A woman is dead and three others are injured after a crash involving an SUV in Miramar. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 on Wednesday, January 6th.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene at approximately 1:45 a.m. According to troopers, a white SUV was traveling southbound when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and swerved to the right. The vehicle collided with a guardrail before veering back onto the roadway, traveling across all lanes and striking a concrete barrier wall in the median.
Rescue workers arrived and transported a 60-year-old female passenger to Memorial Regional Hospital. The woman later succumbed to her injuries. The 30-year-old driver sustained serious injuries while a 30-year-old male passenger and an 8-year-old boy suffered minor injuries. There is no word on the identities of the victims and it is not known what caused the crash at this time.
