Hollywood, FL – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-95
Hollywood, FL (September 20, 2020) – Police are investigating after a man was killed while walking along I-95 in Hollywood on Friday. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of the roadway.
According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the emergency lane of I-95 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck. The collision sent the man into the air, landing in the right-hand express lane. Rescue crews arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead from his injuries. He has not been identified at this time.
The pickup truck fled the scene after the crash. Police are actively searching for the driver at this time although the truck was later found on the side of the highway. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities. No additional details regarding the suspect or the crash are available.
