Fort Lauderdale Car Accidents

A car accident in Fort Lauderdale or the South Florida area can leave victims and their families with tremendous pain and suffering. While not all car accidents result in injuries, more than 250,000 people were hurt and 3,100 more lost their lives in car accidents that took place on Florida’s roadways in 2019. These numbers have either remained steady or continued to increase in recent years as more negligent drivers take to the streets. Tragically, many Florida car accident victims are injured or killed in crashes that are not their fault.

If you have lost a loved one in a car accident in Florida, you are no doubt experiencing a wave of emotions, including frustration and grief. During this time, you may also wonder if you have any legal rights related to the crash. Under Florida law, a crash victim’s next-of-kin could be entitled to file a wrongful death claim when their relative was killed as a direct result of someone else’s negligent actions. Wrongful death claims are extremely complicated, however, and should only be handled by an attorney with relevant experience in this area of the law.
