West Park, FL – Diontre Nealy Killed in 42nd Avenue Hit-and-Run Crash
West Park, FL (August 14, 2021) – A 33-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident that took place in West Park on Friday, August 13th. The incident happened on Southwest 42nd Avenue near the intersection with 20th Street.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash scene. When deputies arrived, they found Diontre Nealy lying in the roadway. Nealy was later pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that Nealy was in the road around 6:00 a.m. when he was struck by a 2017 or newer Mercedes Benz that was traveling southbound. After striking Nealy, the Mercedes driver fled the scene before police could arrive. There were no other injuries reported due to the incident. Motorists were asked to avoid the area while police were at the scene.
Police are still conducting an investigation into the collision at this time. No further information has been released.
