West Palm Beach, FL – Woman Dies in Semi-Truck Wreck Near PGA Blvd

West Palm Beach, FL (January 15, 2024) – A woman died in a crash early Friday on Florida’s Turnpike near Palm Beach Gardens when her pickup truck was involved in a wreck with a tractor-trailer and caught fire, authorities said.

The unidentified woman was driving south on the turnpike north of PGA Boulevard at about 1:15 a.m. when the incident occurred for unknown reasons, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Afterward, FHP said, the pickup became engulfed in flames. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not released as troopers worked to notify her family. The tractor-trailer driver was identified as a 57-year-old man, but his name was not released. He was not seriously injured, troopers added, though he was treated at a local hospital.
