Florida Pedestrian Accidents

On average, pedestrian accidents in Florida claim the lives of about 500 victims each year, and approximately two fatal pedestrian crashes are reported each day in our state. A Florida pedestrian crash can have wide-ranging consequences for victims and their families, including long-term and catastrophic injuries, and even death. Pedestrians who are involved in a crash have a much greater chance of being hurt or killed when compared to victims of other types of crashes. This is because a pedestrian has no protection from the force and impact of an accident.

If you or a loved one have been involved in a Florida pedestrian accident, you are no doubt going through a difficult time. If you have lost a loved one, you are experiencing the sudden grief and tragedy that comes with losing a family member and also wondering how you may be able to move forward following the crash. Fortunately, there could be help available.

Under Florida law, a deceased victim’s personal representative may be entitled to file a wrongful death action against the responsible driver. Wrongful death claims must be filed within a certain specified period of time following the victim’s death and should only be handled by a skilled and experienced Florida wrongful death lawyer who understands the complex legal process behind these types of cases.
