Miami Car Accidents
According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety, there were more than 64,000 traffic accidents in Miami-Dade County in 2019. More than 300 people lost their lives in these crashes and thousands suffered injuries. A Miami car accident can leave you feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. If your loved one was killed in the crash, you are likely experiencing one of the most devastating and heartbreaking times of your life.
Following a car accident in Miami, there are important steps that you should take to protect yourself and your legal rights. Many Miami car accidents occur due to the reckless actions of motorists. Speeding, impaired driving, texting, and failing to yield are all common causes of major accidents. When these actions affect innocent motorists an injury claim can be filed on behalf of the victim. Under Florida law, crash victims and their families can pursue compensation for pain and suffering, payment of medical expenses, lost wages, loss of companionship, and more.
Only an experienced car accident attorney in Miami can evaluate your claim and advise you of what needs to be done in order to obtain the compensation you deserve. If your injuries are serious, your settlement needs to account for the costs of future medical treatment and expected complications. Attempting to handle your case on your own can lead to an insufficient outcome.
