St. Augustine, FL (July 13, 2021) – One person died and two others were injured during a car accident on Sunday, July 13th in St. Johns County, near the border of Flagler County.

The crash took place at about 1:30 p.m. on U.S. 1 and the intersection for Faver Dykes Road.

According to a Highway Patrol report, a sedan was driving westbound from the stop sign at the intersection trying to turn across to the center median but failed to see a pick-up truck heading northbound in the lefthand lane, causing the two to collide and sending both vehicles into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the sedan, a 53-year-old woman from Jacksonville, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 37-year-old woman from Palm Coast, and the passenger in the pick-up truck, a 17-year-old girl, also from Palm Coast, were also transported with non-critical injuries.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Car Accidents in St. Augustine

7.13 St. Augustine, FL - One Dead, Two Injured Following Crash on US-1 at Faver Dykes Rd

According to statistics published by NHTSA, a Florida car accident occurs about once every 92 seconds. This means that all motorists on our roadways must remain vigilant at all times as a crash could occur at any moment. Speeding, reckless driving, impairment, distraction, and more can all lead to a serious accident that can leave victims suffering from catastrophic injuries. Unfortunately, these incidents take place multiple times per day in Florida. In many instances, the victims are innocent motorists who were simply minding their own business when the crash takes place.

If you have been injured in an accident, you should seek to protect your legal rights as soon as possible. Many victims of car accidents in Florida mistakenly believe that the insurance company has their best interest in mind and is working for them when it comes to receiving a settlement of their claim. The insurance company, however, is only concerned with settling the case as quickly and cheaply as they can. It is important to make sure you are represented by experienced counsel who can help you get the compensation that you deserve.

At Boone and Davis, we make sure that our clients are able to recover the maximum amount according to law. With over 40 years of experience helping accident victims, we know how to evaluate your claim so that you are not left with an inadequate settlement that does not fully compensate you for your pain and suffering, lost wages, and medical bills. We will stand up for you when your back is against the wall. Our South Florida car accident attorneys are here to help during your time of greatest need.

We offer free consultations and case evaluations to all potential clients. We also work on a contingency fee basis for most accident cases so there is absolutely no obligation to you unless we obtain a recovery.
