Fatal Accidents in Florida
According to statistics from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were approximately 3,200 individuals killed in crashes on Florida’s roadways in 2019. This number increased slightly over the year before as more motorists are on the roadways in our state. The number of negligent drivers also continues to increase each year. Drivers should always utilize extreme care and caution in order to lower their risk of being involved in a serious crash that can have catastrophic consequences.
Under Florida’s personal injury law, victims and family members may have certain legal rights when they have been affected by a crash that was someone else’s fault. If you find yourself in this situation, our thoughts and condolences are with you. There is nothing more devastating than the sudden loss of a loved one to a traffic accident, especially when the accident was caused by another motorist. Family members may be entitled to file a wrongful death action on behalf of their loved one in order to recover needed compensation during a difficult time in their lives.
