Miami, FL – Woman Hospitalized in Pedestrian Collision on Second St

Miami, FL (February 8, 2024) – According to authorities, a person was hit by a flatbed truck in downtown Miami on Wednesday morning and taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.

Miami Officer Michael Vega reported that a woman in her 50s had been struck when police arrived at 133 NE Second Avenue at 9:30 a.m. in the morning. According to authorities, the truck’s driver struck the woman as he was traveling east on Northeast Second Street and turning right onto Second Road. The woman was transferred to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and officers say the driver was cited. An investigation is still active in the interim.
