Miami, FL – Five Hurt in Semi-Truck Wreck, Fire on FL Trnpke

Miami, FL (February 8, 2024) – During Thursday morning rush hour on Florida’s Turnpike expansion in northwest Miami-Dade, an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer collided with seven other cars, overturned, and caught fire. One person was taken to the hospital, as per the police.

Around 8:30 a.m., the collision caused the Turnpike to be temporarily closed in both directions close to Interstate 75. At least one person was airlifted from the scene, and Miramar Fire Rescue assessed four more patients at the site. Their current conditions are unknown, but an investigation is still ongoing.
