Injury Accidents in Florida
According to statistics from NTHSA, there is a reportable car accident in Florida about once every 90 seconds. In 2019, approximately 400,000 traffic crashes were reported in our state. From these accidents, more than 200,000 people suffered some type of injury. Many of the injuries sustained in crashes are serious and will require extensive medical care, including surgery, physical therapy, and intensive rehabilitation. The road to recovery can be long and include costly medical treatment. Following the accident, you may also miss time at work and jeopardize your ability to support yourself and your family.
The period following the crash is very stressful for many people. This does not mean that you should have to be financially responsible for someone else’s carelessness. When you or a loved one have been injured in a Florida car accident, you may be wondering if you have legal rights. Assuming that you were not at fault for the collision, you could be entitled to payments for your pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages, and potentially more. It is important to first speak with a trained lawyer before you talk to the insurance company. The insurance agent is not working for you and is seeking to obtain a quick settlement for their company.
