Fatal Car Accidents in Florida

Florida is one of the most dangerous states in the country for motorists. According to statistics from the Florida Department of Highway Safety of Motor Vehicles, just over 3,000 people tragically lost their lives in Florida car accidents in 2019. The cause of each fatal car accident must be closely investigated. The large majority of car accidents in Florida are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. This includes speeding, reckless driving, impaired driving, and distraction. Sadly, many innocent victims lose their lives each year as a result of the carelessness of others.

Following a car accident in Florida, you should have a full understanding of your legal rights. It is important to keep in mind that you could be entitled to valuable compensation after the crash. This is also true if your loved one was tragically killed as a result of the collision. Under Florida law, the victim’s next-of-kin may be entitled to bring a wrongful death claim to recover damages. The recoverable damages can include payment of funeral and medical bills, compensation for loss of companionship, lost wages, and potentially more. Only an experienced Florida car accident lawyer can make sure that your case is properly handled and that you receive the compensation that you deserve.
