Florida Hit-and-Run Crashes

Hit-and-run accidents in Florida continue to pose a major issue. In 2019, more than 20% of all reported traffic accidents in our state were hit-and-run crashes. This is significant because it amounts to more than 100,000 reports of a hit-and-run each year. The law requires drivers to remain at the crash scene in order to assist with an investigation into the collision. Unfortunately, too many people choose to disregard their legal obligations in this situation. In the case of a hit-and-run accident, many drivers choose to flee the scene because their negligent actions led directly to the death or serious injury of another person. Instead of taking responsibility, these individuals attempt to hinder the investigation and hope to avoid being apprehended.

Each Florida car accident must be carefully investigated by authorities. If the other driver was at fault, the victim or their family will have the right to bring a claim for recovery under Florida law. In the case of a hit-and-run accident, recovery can be complicated. Only an experienced attorney can review your case and advise you on your potential means of obtaining compensation. These cases require a skilled lawyer who has the necessary experience and knowledge handling hit-and-run claims.
