Miami, FL - Deadly Electrocution Near Monroe Co Under Inquiry

Miami, FL (March 8, 2024) – Two men were transported to a hospital in Miami following an electrocution incident that occurred near Miami, according to authorities.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., the two men were reportedly pruning a palm tree when the scaffold they were using hit a live power line. One man was later pronounced dead, while the other was evacuated to the Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, per later reports. Monroe and Miami County authorities are still investigating the incident in the interim, however.

We offer our deepest condolences to the deceased man’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured victim in hopes of his full recovery.
