Miami, FL - Boy Killed in Pedestrian Wreck on 151st St

Miami, FL (February 21, 2024) – According to authorities, a 12-year-old boy died after being struck by an SUV while walking to elementary school with his younger siblings off Interstate 95. On Tuesday, authorities said the child passed away from critical injuries.

Paramedics were dispatched to Biscayne Gardens Elementary, 560 NW 151st Street, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported. The driver remained at the scene while the minor was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition before later succumbing to his injuries. Officers have no suspicion that the driver was impaired by narcotics or alcohol, though an investigation is ongoing.
