Miami, FL – Boy Dies After Falling into Canal on NW 85th St

Miami, FL (December 18, 2023) – A 13-year-old child was rescued from a canal in northwest Miami-Dade last week, and authorities have now reported that the teen has succumbed to his injuries.

On December 12, divers from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rescued the boy from the water at 181 NW 85th Street after he fell into the canal, as reported by officials. Shortly thereafter, EMTs brought him to Jackson Memorial Hospital. On Saturday, December 16, it was announced that the child had died from his injuries. No further details have been released by the Miami-Dade Police Department, which is handling the ongoing investigation at this time.
