Miami, FL – Boat Capsizes, Injuring Two Men at Hammock Park

Miami, FL (September 8, 2023) – After a motorboat capsized in Coral Gables’ Matheson Hammock Park, rescuers rushed two men to the hospital for treatment.

On Friday morning, fire trucks from Coral Gables’ Fire Rescue Department were sent to 9610 Old Cutler Road. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reports that two individuals were on board the vessel when the driver attempted to turn and capsized it.

At that point, the two boaters were able to swim to safety, but they were in serious condition and sent to Jackson South Medical Center.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials have said that they have no preliminary information on this occurrence at this time. The FWC pulled the vessel to North Miami-Dade just after 4:00 p.m., where they intend to continue their investigation.
