Dania Beach, FL – BSO Deputy Injured in Rear-End Crash on S. Federal Hwy.
Dania Beach, FL (July 18, 2021) – A deputy with the Broward Sheriff’s Office was involved in a two-car crash on Saturday, July 17th. The collision took place around 2:50 a.m. on South Federal Highway near the intersection with Southwest 12th Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they determined that the deputy was sitting in a marked SUV patrol vehicle on South Federal Highway. At that time, a vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the deputy’s vehicle from behind, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The deputy, who was not identified, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Motorists were advised to avoid the area while investigators worked at the scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The BSO is investigating the collision. There is no further information available.
