Car Accidents in Florida

There are hundreds of car accidents reported across Florida each day. According to statistics published by NHTSA, a reportable car accident in Florida takes place about once every 90 seconds. In 2019, more than 400,000 car accidents were reported across our state, and approximately 236,000 people were hurt as a result of these crashes. Many Florida car accidents are caused by the actions of negligent or careless motorists, including drivers who drive while impaired or distracted. While the cause of each crash must be carefully investigated, more than 90% of all accidents are caused by the actions of one or more drivers.

Following a Florida car accident, you should take steps as soon as possible to protect your legal rights. If you were not at fault for the crash, you could be entitled to valuable compensation for your injuries. This includes payment for your pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, and more. Depending on the severity of the crash, you may need ongoing medical treatment and your settlement should reflect this. Crash victims who settle their claim too soon will risk accepting a settlement that does not fully compensate them for the full cost of their injuries.
