Boynton Beach, FL – Female Pedestrian Hurt in Crash on I-95
Boynton Beach, FL (February 6, 2021) – A woman was hurt in a pedestrian crash that took place on Interstate 95 in Boynton Beach. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway near Boynton Beach Boulevard on Monday, Febuary 1.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident. According to a report at the scene, a woman was driving a car on I-95 when a mattress fell from the top of the vehicle and into the roadway. As she got out of her vehicle to retrieve the mattress, she was hit by a vehicle that was traveling southbound. The driver fled the scene after the incident but was later detained by the Boynton Beach Police Department.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Delray Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Her identity has not been released at this time.
A crash investigation remains ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.
