West Palm Beach, FL - Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Okeechobee

West Palm Beach, FL (November 19, 2023) – On Friday, a vehicle struck and killed an elderly woman near Cricket Wireless on Okeechobee Boulevard, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported.

A 36-year-old female driver was attempting to leave the Cricket Wireless parking lot when she was involved in a collision with a 2017 Ford Escape, according to PBSO. The 85-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk near the exit to Cricket Wireless when the 36-year-old vehicle turned right onto the south side of Okeechobee Boulevard. The woman was dragged beneath the car as the driver started to turn. The woman was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center by the West Palm Beach Fire Department, but she was declared dead at about 2:05 p.m. An official from the PBSO said that they are currently investigating the accident.

Our sincere condolences are extended to the deceased woman’s family.
