West Palm Beach, FL – Man Dead in Truck Accident on US Hwy 41

West Palm Beach, FL (September 11, 2023) – According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a man was killed Monday morning after a semi-truck with mechanical issues hit his pickup.

The accident occurred around 6:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 41 near Mile Marker 17346 in northwest Palm Beach County, east of Lake Okeechobee and west of the John G. and Susan H. Dupuis Jr. Wildlife and Environmental Area. Two vehicles, a 1996 Freightliner driven by a man from Hialeah and a 1999 Chevrolet S10, were traveling north on 441 on Monday.

According to the PBSO collision report, the semi-truck slowed down for unknown technical reasons.

The Chevy driver could not avoid colliding with the truck, and his vehicle ran off the road as a result.

After being transported by TraumaHawk to West Palm’s St. Mary’s Medical Center, the unnamed Chevy driver was pronounced dead.

An investigation remains ongoing, and witnesses were asked to get in touch with officers.
