West Palm Beach Car Accidents
A car accident in Florida can be a serious and devastating event for all involved. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there are approximately 400,000 reported car accidents in Florida each year. This number may seem alarming but it represents some of the dangers faced by motorists each time they get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Florida annually ranks near the top of national statistics when it comes to the number of accidents and injury accidents reported. Drivers should always exercise extreme care and caution to lower their risk of being hurt in a crash.
Under Florida law, you could have rights if you were hurt in a crash that was not your fault. Innocent accident victims may have the right to make a claim against the other driver’s insurance policy. In cases of serious crashes, the other driver may have to compensate you for your injuries, including your pain and suffering, lost wages, medical and prescription bills, and potentially more. Before you accept a settlement, it is important to speak with an attorney to gain a full understanding of your legal rights.
