St. Lucie County, FL (February 5, 2024) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in St. Lucie County that left three people dead and one person in critical condition Thursday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that the suspect who stole the deputy’s cruiser was a 33-year-old woman and one of the three people who died in this crash. Troopers said the stolen car, an SUV, collided with a pickup traveling in the opposite direction on Highway 40. Two of the occupants in the pickup truck also died, and one person in the pickup was transported to the hospital in critical condition, according to troopers. FHP has not released any other details, though an investigation remains active.
