Vehicle Accidents in Florida

Even if your driving record is spotless and you consider yourself an extremely safe and mindful driver, you are still at risk of becoming involved in an accident due to another driver’s negligence. Unfortunately, no matter how many precautions we take, we cannot predict the decisions and actions of other drivers on the road. Negligent drivers are responsible for almost 100% (~94%) of all auto accidents in the United States today. That is equivalent to nearly 6 million car accidents per year. Roughly 6% of the national accident rate can be attributed to the Sunshine State, which regularly sees around 400,000 car accidents annually.

If you or someone you love has been injured in an accident that you believe was caused by another person, you may be entitled to significant financial compensation that can help you pay for your injuries and incurred losses. Depending on the circumstances of your wreck, your pain and suffering may be able to be compensated for, among many other unpleasant things you may be dealing with due to the crash. Medical bills, mental health bills, physical therapy bills, loss of life enjoyment, and more are all eligible for compensation in a personal injury lawsuit, as well as much more.

Determining the exact cause of a vehicle crash may be difficult depending on the number of involved factors that played a role in the event. Many different concerns may need to be addressed during a personal injury claim, including possible reasons the collision took place. Auto accidents in Florida can happen for many different reasons, but currently, the leading cause is driver distraction, followed by speeding and intoxication.  Additionally, figuring out who is legally responsible for a car wreck can require a lot more time and energy than you may think. In Florida, if a plaintiff is partially at fault for a crash, they still may be eligible to collect financial compensation for their injuries and losses. Depending on the percentage that you are found to be responsible for the incident, for example, if it is found that you’re approximately 50% responsible, you’ll be able to collect 50% of the allotted compensation amount. A personal injury attorney in Florida will be able to help you better understand your legal rights and the process surrounding personal injury law in the Sunshine State.
