Plantation, FL – Woman Arrested in Injury Accident on Cypress Rd

Plantation, FL (September 9, 2023) – A woman was detained after being involved in a wreck in South Florida for the second time in less than three years, both times while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to officers with the Plantation Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday morning when the woman allegedly rear-ended another driver on Cypress Road in Plantation.

The suspect, who was at the wheel of a black Mercedes-Benz, hit another driver who had stopped at a red light on West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 70th Avenue. She then fled the scene.

She was pulled over shortly thereafter for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and violating probation. EMTs assessed the other driver for injuries, though their current condition is unknown.

The PPD has not released further details at this time, but they are continuing their investigation at this time.
