Palm Beach Co, FL – George Fortier Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Summer Tree

Palm Beach County, FL (January 11, 2024) – A 98-year-old Boynton Beach-area man was killed this week when he was hit by a vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said, and authorities have since released further details.

Investigators say George Fortier was walking in the 7200 block of Summer Tree Drive shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday when an eastbound Mercedes SUV hit him. Fortier was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he died a few hours later. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured in the collision, though the crash report did not indicate whether any charges or citations were pending against the driver.
