North Lauderdale, FL (July 27, 2021) – A 12-year-old boy lost his life and a 10-year-old girl sustained critical injuries in a severe collision that happened in North Lauderdale on Sunday, July 25. According to information from officials, the wreck occurred just after 10:30 a.m. 

Reports show that the collision happened when a 2015 Chrysler 200 t-boned a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The incident was reported on McNab Road near Avon Lane. 

The Chrysler was traveling west on McNab, attempting to turn left at a yellow light while the Sierra traveled east on McNab, according to information from various sources. 

A 12-year-old boy present in one of the vehicles at the time of the collision was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. A 10-year-old girl was in critical condition on Monday, officials said. 

Traffic in the area was backed up for an extended period of time on the night of July 25. Authorities in North Lauderdale continue to investigate.
