Miami Lakes, FL – 4-Car Crash Causes Injuries on Palmetto Expressway
Miami Lakes, FL (December 30, 2020) – A four-vehicle crash caused severe injuries to one individual and serious injuries to three others on the Palmetto Expressway this past Tuesday, according to officials. The crash was said to have occurred just off Northwest 154th Street in Miami Lakes.
It was confirmed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews that a total of four individuals sustained injuries in the fiery collision. One required airlifting to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for emergency medical treatment. Three others were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals. Their identities and current health conditions have not been made available to the public at this time.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that the accident occurred when a Ford sedan was traveling north on the Palmetto Expressway. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove over the barrier wall, and collided with three other vehicles that were headed south.
All lanes of the Expressway were closed for some time after the crash occurred. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames caused by the collision while medical professionals assisted injured victims and police assessed damages.
