Miami, FL – Woman, Child Hospitalized in Pedestrian Wreck on Second Ave
Miami, FL (March 6, 2024) – Miami police are investigating after a woman and her 9-year-old daughter were struck by a van Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Northeast Second Avenue and 54th Street. Authorities were at the scene as the driver of a Palm Medical Centers van jumped a curb, striking the victims as they stood on the sidewalk. According to police, the van driver told officers that she didn’t notice a car had stopped right in front of her and veered right to try to avoid a crash. Both victims were hospitalized, and an investigation is ongoing in the interim.
