Florida Car Accidents

According to statistics, there were more than 400,000 reported car accidents in Florida in 2019. While this number could seem high, it underscores the danger faced by motorists who travel on our roadways each day. In fact, it is estimated that a Florida car accident occurs about once every 92 seconds. Drivers should always assume that they are at risk of being involved in a crash and should drive carefully, observing all safety and traffic rules. Driving safely and securely can help lower the risk of being injured in a life-changing accident.

Despite taking safety precautions, it is understood that crashes can and will occur on a daily basis. Some accidents are simply unavoidable despite the best efforts and precautions. This is because there are a number of negligent drivers on the roadways and these drivers can cause a crash in a matter of seconds. Some common causes of Florida car accidents include speeding, reckless driving, failing to yield at stop signs, texting while driving, and drowsy driving. Each of these driving behaviors can contribute to an accident with a very negative outcome.
