Florida Car Accidents

Car accidents in Florida take place hundreds of times each day. According to the most recent statistics available, there were more than 400,000 reported car accidents in our state in 2019. From these crashes, more than 200,000 people were injured and over 3,000 were killed. In fact, Florida has one of the highest rates of traffic deaths with 14.7 reported fatalities per 100,000 residents.

Many serious accidents occur on major highways such as I-95 where traffic volume is heavy and drivers fail to obey safety laws that are put in place for themselves and other motorists. These drivers speed and drive recklessly, or drive while distracted, all leading to a greater possibility of a serious crash. In many instances, the victim is an innocent motorist who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Under our state’s law, car accident victims in Florida are entitled to compensation when they have been injured in an accident with a negligent driver. The cause of the crash must be carefully investigated in order to determine the facts that led up to the accident and which driver should be held responsible. In most cases, the negligence of at least one person is a major contributing factor in the accident.
