Pedestrian Accidents in Florida

More than once over the past several years, Florida has been ranked the most dangerous state in the nation for pedestrians. Between the years 2008 and 2017, our state saw 5,433 fatal pedestrian accidents. In fact, a fatal pedestrian crash in Florida is reported about twice each day. These numbers may seem startling but they underscore the dangers that are present for pedestrians in our state. A Florida pedestrian accident frequently results in severe injuries and even death for vulnerable victims who have no way to protect themselves from the sheer force of a collision with a large vehicle.

While the accident itself can be extremely devastating, there are things that pedestrians and their families can do to help themselves following the crash. Initially, many Florida pedestrian accidents are caused due to the negligence of other motorists. Reckless drivers often have little regard for the health and well-being of those around them. These drivers may fail to see a pedestrian in the roadway until it is too late to avoid a collision.

If you or a loved one have suffered injuries at the hands of a negligent driver, you should contact an experienced pedestrian accident lawyer in Florida right away. At Boone & Davis, our legal team has over 40 years of experience handling pedestrian accident claims. We know what to look for in order to help you get the compensation that you need during this time. We understand what you are going through and strongly believe that no innocent accident victim should be left financially responsible for someone else’s mistakes.

Under Florida law, you could be entitled to recover compensation for your pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, and possibly more. It is important to act now in order to protect your legal rights. Waiting to speak with an attorney can jeopardize your claim and result in a settlement that is lower than what you should accept given the seriousness of your injuries.
