Miami, FL – One Killed, One Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on State Road 836

Miami, FL – Construction Accident on Bird Rd near SW 114th Ave Takes Woman’s Life

Miami, FL (May 8, 2021) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a crash left one person dead on Saturday. The collision took place around 7:30 a.m. on State Road 836 near Northwest 17th Avenue.

Troopers responded to the scene shortly after the collision occurred. According to a report, a black Hyundai was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR 836 when it collided head-on with a westbound Nissan. One of the vehicles erupted in flames following the accident. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene while the Hyundai driver was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. That driver was not identified.

The crash caused the SR 836 to be closed while police investigated at the scene. Drivers were advised to find alternate routes of travel and to use caution when traveling near the accident scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
