Miami, FL (January 12, 2024) – A Miami-Dade Police Department officer was hospitalized early Friday morning after a serious crash on Interstate 95 northbound near Ives Dairy Road.

The injured officer, who was said to be in stable condition, was rushed to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Authorities say the patrol car’s damage was severe, with the driver’s side completely smashed. The events leading up to the wreck are unknown, and the total number of victims hurt was not released. Following the incident, the I-95 northbound on-ramp was temporarily closed, but traffic resumed normally after reopening. An investigation is still ongoing.
