Motorcycle Accidents in Florida
Motorcycle riders are considered vulnerable road users by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The reason for this classification is that motorcyclists are highly likely to be seriously injured and even killed when they are involved in an accident with another vehicle. In 2019, there were a total of 1,023 motorcycle crashes in Miami-Dade County. From this number, 841 injuries and 46 fatalities were reported. The odds of being injured in a Miami motorcycle accident are far greater than an accident involving another type of vehicle. Motorcycles offer little or no protection against the force and impact of a crash.
If you have been involved in a motorcycle accident in the Miami area, you are likely in need of compensation. If the accident was not your fault, it is important to have a full understanding of your legal rights. Under Florida law, you could be entitled to recover for your damages, including your medical and prescription costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and potentially more. You should never try to handle the case on your own as this decision could cost you tens of thousands of dollars. The insurance company is not working for you and will attempt to get you to settle your case quickly and for the lowest possible amount.
