Miami, FL - Motorcyclist Killed in I-95 Accident at 151st St

Miami, FL (December 24, 2023) – A man’s death was reported in an accident that caused the hours-long closure of Interstate 95’s southbound lanes on Saturday evening, December 23.  At about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol were seen by a traffic camera directing southbound motorists to use the fast lanes to the south of the Golden Glades Interchange.

The Florida Interstate Patrol reports that a black Infiniti vehicle was approaching the interstate from Northwest 151st Street when a black Can-Am three-wheel motorcycle traveling southbound was involved in an accident. The Infiniti’s driver swerved to avoid a collision as a pickup vehicle allegedly swerved into their lane. The Infiniti then moved into the outer lane, apparently causing the collision with the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist died after being taken to Ryder Trauma Center by paramedics. However, no details on any other victims’ injuries were reported. An investigation is still ongoing, and both the State Road 826 entrance to I-95 and the Florida Turnpike ramp to I-95 were closed during the on-scene inquiry.

We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased victim’s family. Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their families at this time.
