Miami, FL – Man Dies, Three Injured in Four-Car Wreck on I-95

Miami, FL (October 7, 2023) – On Thursday night, a four-car accident on Interstate 95 near Oakland Park claimed the life of a 74-year-old man.

The unidentified Homestead man was driving south on I-95 beyond Oakland Park Boulevard in the inside lane when the incident occurred just after 10:00 p.m., according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials say the accident appeared to be a chain-reaction wreck after an earlier crash had blocked the same lane. The driver of a Toyota Corolla slammed the back of a Toyota Highlander, killing the 74-year-old man and injuring a 39-year-old man from Port St. Lucie.

At least two other victims were transported to Broward Health Medical Center, though their current condition is not known.

FHP is still looking into the cause of the wreck in the interim.
