Miami, FL – Injuries Reported in Duplex Fire at 64th St & 62nd Ave
Miami, FL (December 30, 2023) – On Saturday morning, several units of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were sent to a residence in southwest Miami-Dade that had caught fire, resulting in a first alarm.
At the intersection of Southwest 64th Street and Southwest 62nd Avenue, the incident occurred at about 5:45 a.m., according to MDFR. When they arrived, the fire department reported seeing smoke and flames emanating from the converted one-story duplex. No serious injuries were recorded, but EMTs reportedly assessed a number of residents for smoke inhalation and minor burns. Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire and have not released further details.
