Miami, FL – Ileana Mendigutia Identified in Deadly Collision on Bird Rd
Miami, FL (January 2, 2024) – A volunteer fireman from Southwest Ranches was charged in a vehicle collision that killed a 77-year-old woman on Thursday, per local authorities.
The victim has been identified as Ileana Mendigutia. Officials say the collision occurred when the driver of a Jeep, 47-year-old Vidal Lazo, hit Mendigutia’s Toyota Camry head-on on Bird Road. According to Miami-Dade Police, Lazo was driving under the influence and is facing several charges. The inquiry is still underway, per the Miami-Dade Police, but additional charges may be pending.
