Miami, FL – Eight Hospitalized in BSO Accident on Atlantic Blvd

Miami, FL (November 28, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, in North Broward County, a collision occurred involving two correctional vans and a private vehicle. The accident occurred in Pompano Beach and involved injuries, per authorities, who responded to the scene at the intersection of West Atlantic Boulevard and North Andrews Avenue at around 5:30 a.m.

Two prisoner transport units from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and a private car were involved in the collision, according to officials. Authorities from the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene of the accident and began evaluating victims. A BSO deputy was taken to a local hospital by paramedics after suffering injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. No one else was seriously hurt, but seven inmates were sent to a neighboring hospital. Detectives from the Pompano Beach District of the BSO are now looking into what happened.
