Miami, FL - 1 Killed, 6 Injured in Multi-Car Crash on Quail Roost Dr

Miami-Dade, FL (December 28, 2020) – One person has lost their life and six others were seriously injured after their involvement in a multi-car accident that took place in Miami-Dade. The crash involved an SUV that was traveling the wrong way on Quail Roost Drive.

The Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were called to respond to the scene of the crash that occurred along Quail Roost Drive near Southwest 113th Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 27.

Police stated that the accident was a five-car pileup that took place when a white Mercedes-Benz SUV headed east in the westbound lanes struck several vehicles before crashing and turning onto its side.

A total of five vehicles and ten individuals were involved in the crash, according to officials.

In one of the vehicles struck by the SUV, a father and son were traveling. The son was riding in the front passenger seat and lost his life as a result of the collision. He has not been identified to the public at this time.

His father was taken to Kendall Regional hospital with injuries of a non-life-threatening nature.

The remaining victims who survived the crash were transported to other area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy in Miami-Dade.

Florida Car Crashes

A fatal car accident in Florida is estimated to take place approximately once every three hours. This averages out to nearly 9 people who lose their lives per day due to fatal Florida car accidents. Each year, on average, a total of approximately 3,000 individuals are killed due to auto collisions in Florida. Sadly, most of these incidences are caused by driver negligence.

The most prevalent cause for car accidents to occur in the Sunshine State, currently, is distracted driving, which is another form of negligent driving. The specific action that people most often choose to carry out while driving that puts them in the ‘distracted driving’ category is texting. Texting and driving accounts for nearly one-fourth of all of the car accidents that take place in Florida.

Seeking the assistance of a skilled and knowledgeable Florida accident attorney after involvement in a serious accident is your best bet in receiving full and fair financial compensation for your injuries and losses. Attempting to negotiate a just compensation amount from the insurance company on your own without the skilled assistance of a Florida personal injury lawyer could put you in an undesirable position. Insurance companies often attempt to totally avoid paying compensation or coerce accident victims into settling for a meager amount.

If you have lost a loved one in a negligently caused car accident, you may be legally entitled to financial compensation depending on the circumstances of your crash. Allow a Florida wrongful death lawyer to inform you of your existing legal rights, and to help you exercise them in court if need be.
