Lauderdale Lakes, FL (July 6, 2021) – According to officials in Lauderdale Lakes, a fatal collision occurred in the early morning hours of July 3. The incident was reported to responders just before 2:00 AM.

Information from reports states that a Mercedes-Benz SLK 300 struck a median on State Road 7. The vehicle then crossed over oncoming lanes of traffic and hit a concrete bus stop.  

The Mercedes was said to have been speeding at the time of the wreck. Both the driver and passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical professionals. Their identities have not been released at this time as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

It is believed that as the vehicle was headed north on State Road 7, the driver lost control and crashed into the bus stop after crossing over the center median.
