Ft Lauderdale, FL – Woman, Officer Hurt in Pursuit, Wreck on Commercial Blvd

Fort Lauderdale, FL (December 4, 2023) – A multi-vehicle crash at the crossroads of Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road ended a high-speed police pursuit on Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale. Law enforcement from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) began pursuing a silver Toyota Camry in connection with an aggravated assault investigation. The pursuit began on State Road 7 and continued east until a collision occurred, blocked traffic, and injured one woman and at least two others, including a BSO deputy. The nature of the injuries and the current investigation are still being revealed. However, the driver of the Camry was captured after escaping on foot.
