Ft Lauderdale, FL – Woman Killed, Three Hurt in Six-Car Crash on I-95
Fort Lauderdale, FL (February 11, 2024) – After a six-car collision at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport early Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Miami woman had died, three other persons had been hurt, and all southbound traffic on Interstate 95 had been blocked.
A 23-year-old woman reportedly stepped out of her vehicle to assist after two other vehicles crashed, according to FHP’s account of the incident, which occurred just after 4:00 a.m. Investigators claim a separate driver lost control of his vehicle just north of the Marina Mile Boulevard/State Road 84 exit, causing the initial crash.
A separate rear-end wreck due to slowing traffic then pushed another vehicle into the site of the first collision, hitting the woman who exited her vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other three victims were hospitalized. No further details have been reported, however, and an investigation is ongoing.
