Ft Lauderdale, FL – Man Dead in I-95 Truck Accident at 24th St

Fort Lauderdale, FL (November 25, 2023) – A man’s death in a tractor-trailer accident has been verified by authorities on Saturday after they released additional details in connection with the fatal crash on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident near Interstate 595 claimed the life of the driver of a 2008 Volvo tractor hauling a 2014 Stoughton trailer. Officials say that, for unknown reasons, a black 2021 Nissan Altima driven by a 39-year-old woman, reportedly rear-ended the truck. As a result of the collision, the truck slammed into the concrete median wall, hit a parked 1991 Trim trailer, and then rolled onto its roof, causing a fire. Fire rescue and emergency medical services from both Broward and Fort Lauderdale arrived quickly at the site of the accident, close to Southwest 24th Street, but the truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened just before the collision in the meantime.
