Ft Lauderdale, FL – Injuries Reported in Apt Complex Fire on Ninth Ave
Fort Lauderdale, FL (November 9, 2023) – Officials at a Fort Lauderdale apartment complex reported a fire in one of the apartments, prompting the evacuation of the building’s occupants.
On Thursday evening, firefighters from Fort Lauderdale’s Fire Rescue Department were called to the River Reach Condominiums on Southwest Ninth Avenue. Investigators determined that the fire originated in a kitchen on the fifth floor around 8:40 p.m., sending heavy smoke throughout the complex.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze after evacuating residents. No one was seriously hurt, though EMTs evaluated residents for minor injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is still ongoing.
