Ft Lauderdale, FL – Box Truck Wreck Shuts Down I-95 at Sunrise

Fort Lauderdale, FL (October 17, 2023) – The southbound express lanes of Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale were closed before morning rush hour on Tuesday because of a rollover collision involving a box truck.

Due to an accident that occurred around 5:35 a.m. at the Sunrise Boulevard exit, all southbound traffic was rerouted to leave at Sunrise. Traffic was backed up beyond Commercial Boulevard at 6:30 a.m. and Cypress Creek Road at 7:05 a.m.

Paramedics also responded and took an unknown number of victims to a local hospital. Their current conditions and the cause of the accident remain unclear, however.
