Injury Accidents in Florida
It is easy to take our safety for granted when we get behind the wheel of a vehicle or get into a car with someone else. Driving is a routine and daily part of life for most people. Despite this fact, however, serious injury accidents take place across Florida every day. According to statistics from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were more than 400,000 reportable car accidents in Florida in 2019. From these crashes, over 250,000 injuries were also reported, with many of them being catastrophic or debilitating injuries. These numbers certainly underscore the fact that driving is a dangerous activity and all motorists should remember to use care and caution each time they are on the roadways.
While taking appropriate safety measures can help, not all accidents are avoidable. The actions of negligent drivers sometimes place innocent motorists in a position where a crash is inevitable. Speeding, reckless driving, and distraction are among the top causes of serious car accidents in Florida. These careless and reckless drivers can cause crashes in an instant and can leave other drivers in a difficult spot.
